Kansas Governor vetoes coal fired power plants legislation

The Governor of Kansas has vetoed legislation
which would allow the almost Orwellianly named ‘Sunflower’ Electric
Power Corporation to build a pair of 700-megawatt coal-fired power plants.
Backers of the bill do not have the power to overturn the veto, but the
legal battle is expected to continue.
