Science and Environment Round Up Kansas Governor vetoes coal fired power plants legislation
By Tom Drake
The Governor of Kansas has vetoed legislation
which would allow the almost Orwellianly named ‘Sunflower’ Electric
Power Corporation to build a pair of 700-megawatt coal-fired power plants.
Backers of the bill do not have the power to overturn the veto, but the
legal battle is expected to continue.
