Fox News Contributor Destroys Career Live on Hannity and Colmes

This has got to be one of the funniest examples of Right wing idiocy I've ever seen. In the mold of other shrill but brainless Fox News presenters (think Michelle Malkin and Ann Coulter), Andrea Tantaros delivers an unbelievably nonsensical diatribe on the Democratic Party, Rev. Wright, John McCain, and the automobile industry. Frothing at the mouth, Tantaros goes off on a bizzare rant about John McCain not using Rev. Jeremiah Wright to win the election, saying he was 'fair game', but that,"The problem was, that when the stock market was crashing, people didn't care about Rev. Wright." Tantaros then says that McCain should have talked more about the economy 'rather than Paris Hilton', and finshes up by accusing Colmes of being 'speechless' when he failed to respond to her points!

In the next segment, Tantaros applies her considerable intellect to the financial crisis, lecturing Colmes on putting a 'band aid on cancer' in reference to the automobile industry, and says 'Democrats don't trust Americans what to do with their own money' (I wonder what she thought about the unaccountable $2 Trillion the Federal Reseverve is handing out to financial companies?).

The entire segment is rather surreal as Tantaros desperately tries to emulate the viciousness of her co-workers at Fox, caked in makeup to appeal to fat middle aged Republicans, and eager to show an intellect that just isn't there. The end result is complete humiliation, as no one on the show (including Hannity) has a clue what she is talking about.  If Fox has any shred of self respect (and chances are they don't), they will fire Tantaros for sheer idiocy. I'm hoping she stays on, as this video really made me laugh.

What Will Hannity Do Once Colmes Has Gone?

The dynamic duo on Fox News is apparently breaking up for good. 'Liberal' Alan Colmes will be leaving Sean Hannity to further his own career, ending 12 years of partnership with the conservative poster child. According to the Huffington Post:

OX News Channel's (FNC) Alan Colmes will relinquish his role as co-host of Hannity & Colmes at the end of the year.

In announcing his decision, Colmes said, "I approached Bill Shine (FNC's Senior Vice President of Programming) earlier this year about wanting to move on after 12 years to develop new and challenging ways to contribute to the growth of the network. Although it's bittersweet to leave one of the longest marriages on cable news, I'm proud that both Sean (Hannity) and I remained unharmed after sitting side by side, night after night for so many years."

How will Hannity cope without Colme's soothing liberalism? Will he explode in a fit of unfettered conservatism? The thought of Hannity left alone is truly scary. Colmes hasn't exactly challenged Hannity over the years, but he has provided some sort of a check to his rampant Republicanism. I have to say, I'm pleased Colmes has decided to get out of this abusive relationship. Working as a liberal gimp with the biggest bully on Fox can't have been good for his self esteem, and Colmes may finally blossom when out by himself. But Hannity may find himself distincly out of sorts. Like a domineering husband without a submissive wife to beat on, he could find himself descending into Ike Turner territory, of even worse, hosting a show like Bill O'Reilly's. Either way, it won't be fun to watch.

I do not agree with Barack Obama's position on Israel. I do not believe he does either (I think he is far more reasoned than he lets on), but his public position is very clear: That the United States is a staunch ally of Israel, and its security is paramount.

In a remarkable interview with Sheppard Smith on Fox News, Joe 'The Plumber' was called out for his silly comments that 'A vote for Obama would mean the death of Israel'. Smith grilled Joe repeatedly about what he meant, and went to great lengths to clarify Joe's completely unfounded allegation. Smith may be to the Right politically, but he is a decent human being and clearly takes his job somewhat seriously:

With the current financial crisis doing massive damage to McCain's campaign, the Republican party is trying its best to change the subject. They have been harping on about Obama's relationship with a man who took part in mild social disruption back in the 1960's (William Ayers was not a terrorist in the modern sense of the word), and link him as an associate and close friend to Obama. Fox News has been dutifully repeating the McCain camp talking points, but are point blank called out by Obama spokesperson Bill Burton:

Watching American TV is a fascinating, and immensely infuriating experience, but it does explain a lot. Yanks get a pretty hard time from almost everyone around the world at the moment, mostly for simply being bloody stupid – I feel that this is unfair (except for the 52% odd that voted for Bush, they are just stupid).

   

Watch the news on Fox, NBC, CNN and even Sky news and you realise that what has become known as American stupidity is actually nothing of the sort, but simply the result of a process of mass brainwashing; they are not stupid, but stupefied. I remember watching the coverage of Hurricane Katrina (which had the Revelationists wetting themselves with excitement) every day until a full week after the event; which was a true tragedy. I don’t think I even need to say anything about Bush’s handling of the situation, or of the wonderful job his Arabian horse-rearing drinking buddy did for the ‘folks’ in trouble, but the way the media handled it was almost as painful to watch as the actual event itself:

“Coming up on today’s broadcast; images from New Orleans that will literally move you (dramatic pause) to tears.”

   

“We interviewed this man, whose house was completely destroyed. Watch now as he becomes so overwhelmed, that he just breaks down (dramatic pause) in front of your very eyes.”

   

"Here are the EXCLUSIVE, and let me repeat that, EXCLUSIVE images of Oprah inside what has become, and I never thought I’d say this folks, an American refugee camp. We had to turn the cameras off because she was too overwhelmed (dramatic pause) to carry on.”

Fox News Reporter Savaged

Father Mike Pfleger destroys a Bill O'Reilly producer over smearing Reverend Jeremiah Wright. This is one of the best confrontations between Fox News and a serious liberal (not the usual half hearted hacks they invite to represent the left). Pfleger dismantles the interviewers assertions that Wright is a racist and a bigot, exposing the fraudulent journalism Fox has become renown for.

Right-wing nutcase claims those who want sex ed taught in schools want kids to get STDs

And that's not the worst part.  In an interview on Faux News, Concerned Women for America President Wendy Wright said that she believes that those who support comprehensive sex education for children want those children to have unprotected sex, get STD's and then get preagnant so they have to get abortions.  Why, you mught ask, does she believe such things about supporters of sex ed? Well apparently because we make tons and tons of money from all those abortions.  See, it all works out when you factor in the abortion slush fund all liberals and supporters of decent education draw their Satan-mas bonus checks from to buy their kids cocaine and Thai lady-boys.  And am I the only one who feels weird giving moronic front-people for fake advocacy groups honorifics?  Anyway enjoy the very uncomfoortable insanity.

I really don't like Fox News. Often I disagree with MSNBC commentator John Ridley, though that is because of his dismissal of non-MSM writers and far left thinking rather than because I think he is wrong. But in the case of whether Democrats should appear on Fox News I have to agree with him. Those in the liberal blogosphere, many of whom I like and respect, who say that Democrats should not appear on Fox News because it legitimizes it are wrong. It is already the highest cable news network. The difference is that rather than writing Fox News viewers off, as some have done, I think we should be able make our case to them as well. As biased as Fox News is the story becomes even more one-sided if when people from the left are invited on they decline. In that case no matter what Fox does we will never get to these people and if we truly want change we cannot simply write-off 25% of the American population.

So I was going through my favorite news, information, pop culture websites this past weekend when I came across an interesting post. It was put up by your typical anonymous responder #54 (okay, truth be told he was the first responder on the thread, but I'm pretty sure Guido was not the cat's true name) who blasted Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis) for appearing on Fox News Sunday as being "this week's FOX Democrat. Shame on him."

Put a hex on Feingold for showing up on Fox news?

Okay, disclosure: I'm from Wisconsin, and cast my last presidential vote there. Except for McCarthy and Dahmer I like all things Badger State.

That said, I saw Feingold on FNS. He acquitted himself excellently.

Chris Wallace asked questions that could be considered only somewhat vast rightwing conspiracy slanted, if at all. But there was certainly nothing from so far left...well, right field that Feingold couldn't handle it. Why, then, "shame on him" for NOT being afraid to take it to the "other guy's" house and state his case? For me the shame oughta be on guys like Guido; the left leaners who want to flay Democrats for having the meat to stand in the Foxlight.

Obviously, Fox News makes its bank in extreme opinion. I've already registered my disgust with John Gibson who is NOT a racist. He's just an old white guy who thinks white people oughta maintain their white dominance by having lots of white babies. But does Fox opine any less than Keith Olbermann or Chris Matthews over at MSNBC (another disclosure, I co host Morning Joe on the network, though I hope by now that's not actually a disclosure for anyone anymore)?

The far left fringe feasting on their own is, of course, hardly a new phenomenon. There are nearly half a dozen pejoratives reserved for any liberal who would dare to be a guest of "the enemy." Quite ironic when you consider that House Speaker Nancy had no fear of slapping on a do-rag and having a siddown with actual "enemy" Syrian President Bashar al-Assad (as have Republicans), and in light of the current Obama/Clinton dust up over Obama's remarks that he would go "toe to toe with the leaders of rogue nations."

And why not? if Nixon could stare down China, if Reagan could do the same to the Soviets, why should the Dems cower before aggressors?

They shouldn't.
